To strengthen our Lonza Global Program Management team, we are looking for an exceptional Global Program Director, based in Basel and reporting to the Head of Global Strategic Programs Office (CEO Office).

Role Purpose:

The Global Strategic Programs Office reports to the Group CEO and it is responsible for driving through structure and stakeholder engagement key strategic initiatives for the entire Lonza Group.

Key Accountabilities and Duties

• Works with colleagues to set the agenda for the specific program, based on corporate priorities and business and market needs. develop initiatives and monitor program delivery aimed at elevating the performance of the specific program`s activities
• Leads workshops, internal business events to review the status and quality of implementation, share lessons learned, accelerate deliverables , create awareness and strengthens bonds between functions and business; develops a lean and clear governance structure for the management of the Projects/Programs
• Develops and shares a pragmatic approach and methods to build transparency on project progress and accountability, in order to deliver business results consistently
• Builds a consolidated overview of the various portfolios of projects within the program of his/her influence, in alignment and adapted to the various audience needs
• Makes sure facts, financials, employees, strategy etc. are presented in a concise and executive manner, in preparation for presentation of progress and results Senior Management/Steer Committees
• Closely collaborates with senior managers and peers in enabling Functions and in Business, to ensure a strong alignment on processes, deliverables and overall full alignment with the Group’s strategy direction
• Drive the build out of strategic and comprehensive Communications Plan on the program(s) to enhance alignment, visibility, effectiveness and consistency of internal and external messages for the programs
• Champions and communicates the program objectives and strategy throughout the organization

Who you are

You are someone who has the ability to be a Business Partner and internal consultant with commercial and execution mind-set, effectively manage confidential information with impeachable integrity and discretion. You are someone who has a clear and concise written and oral communication, excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills and has the ability to work within a diverse global team. You are someone who has the knowledge of chemical and life science industry. R&D, Marketing and Sales. Finance and engineering is a plus, experience in analysing and understanding ambiguous data and formulate hypothesis and translate into actionable plans

• Master degree (Field of study Chemistry/Life Science/Engineering matter) - required
• MBA, PhD (Field of study Business Management/ Finance) - preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (English & German)
• Extensive experience within
o multinational environment preferably in the in chemical and life science industry, managing transformation projects in an industrial/ business context or similar experience – ideally combined with consulting experience
o Pharma Biotech Industry and/or Consumer Care and/or Nutrition and Chemical Industry experience needed
o Digital Projects, R&D, sales and business development, marketing, and corporate environments preferred
• Be able to operate within a global integrated business system environment - ERP (SAP, BW, SharePoint, Office 365 etc.) knowledge and Microsoft Office required.
• Systemic Thinking, as ability to see connections and inter-relationships across businesses, functions, organizations, people, trends, and cultures in ways that lead to insightful analysis and innovative, sustainable solutions
• Extensive project management: planning, schedule, resource and progress measurement experience in Industrial / Business Change environments
• Proficient at developing and managing progress metrics and measurement frameworks
